E-Gas

"E” stands for “electronic.” In cars equipped with E-gas, the accelerator pedal acts like a sensor. Based on the position of the pedal, it immediately recognises how much power the driver wants. This output signal is used by the engine management system to regulate the throttle valve, the boost pressure and the ignition. This electronic system supersedes the traditional control technology using a cable and offers a number of key benefits: E-gas simplifies electronic engine management, responds more quickly and is a technical prerequisite for the electronic stabilisation program (ESP).
